spring is finally here!

pretty spring flowers popping up!

skipping rocks.

out by the lake.

Jed and I went for a walk by the lake yesterday and it was the perfect spring day! Finally it is starting to warm up. Although today it is rather chilly out, I have hope that we'll be seeing a lot more green outside before long.

Let me start your week off with a poem by Emily Dickinson. One of my favorite poets (as well as Jed's). Although we don't have bees in the house, we have many wasps finding their way through the walls and cracked floor boards. And it reminds me that spring really is here.

THE BEE.

Like trains of cars on tracks of plush
I hear the level bee:
A jar across the flowers goes,
Their velvet masonry

Withstands until the sweet assault
Their chivalry consumes,
While he, victorious, tilts away
To vanquish other blooms.

His feet are shod with gauze,
His helmet is of gold;
His breast, a single onyx
With chrysoprase, inlaid.

His labor is a chant,
His idleness a tune;
Oh, for a bee's experience
Of clovers and of noon!
